This is my first violin build and I consider it a natural progression from building mandolins.

The top and back plates are high quality spruce, while the rims are maple.

The plates were hand graduated and the tone bar was tap-tuned.

The instrument has been finished with a traditional seal coat of Vernice Bianca inside and out, before tinted and clear coats of violin oil varnish, brushed on. The final finish was then burnished and protected with bison wax..

Several violinists have played the instrument and have given it the thumbs up, even though it is not yet “played in”.
